Five child sex offences reported to the police every hour

Recently collected figures from the NSPCC show that the number of child sex offences reported to police throughout the UK rose to a record 45,456 last year – 124 a day. This is an increase of a third compared to 2013/14, when 31,238 sex offences were reported. Crimes included rape, grooming and sexual assault.
