A report from ECPAT UK and Missing People has found that an alarming number of trafficked and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children are going missing from care. The report, Heading back to harm, found that over a quarter of all trafficked children and over 500 unaccompanied asylum-seeking children went missing at least once in the year to September 2015 – 207 have not been found. The report uses data collected from local authorities across the UK. It recommends specific training on the issues facing these children.
