Concerns over treatment of children under the Prevent strategy

The Open Society Justice Initiative has called on the Government to repeal the Prevent strategy as it says it violates human rights and causes serious concerns about the treatment of children. In Eroding Trust: The UK’s Prevent Counter-Extremism Strategy in Health and Education, the Initiative claims that the Prevent strategy, the government’s counter-terrorism strategy, has led to children as young as four being targeted and that the guidance does not specify that teachers and health professionals must comply with safeguarding obligations.
