Autism report calls for better transition between child and adult services

The National Autism Project has published a report, The Autism Dividend, on how best to address the needs of autistic people in the UK. It includes a recommendation on improving the transition of autistic people from children to adult services; providing parents and carers with information and support to help them prepare for the difficult transition into adult care. It highlights that transitions of this kind are particularly stressful for an autistic person, and that instability can cause enormous anxiety.
