More support for children of separated parents called for

A report by the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) has called on the government to do more to ensure that after parents separate, the social security and child maintenance systems support the welfare of the parents and their children. Separation is often a difficult and challenging life event, which carries an increased risk of negative outcomes and poorer life chances for the children and parents involved.
