Special guardianship regulations updated

Special guardianship regulations have been updated to strengthen social worker assessments of guardianship arrangements. They came into force at the end of February 2016. Social workers must now focus on assessing the potential guardian’s current and past relationship with the child, and assessing their parenting capacity.
