Serious Case Review: William Vahey

Results from a serious case review published by Local Safeguarding Children Board Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster regarding a teacher who abused over 50 children from a London independent school whilst on overseas visits, has concluded with a series of recommendations/learning points. One point raised is that Local Safeguarding Children Boards should work with the Department for Education and Home Office to develop a workable solution to obtaining relevant background checks where staff have worked overseas.
